IMPORTANT NOTICE RE: BANKRUPTCY COURT OPERATIONS

Monday, March 16, 2020

On March 13, 2020, the District Court entered an order providing for the continued operation of the federal courts in the Central District of Illinois during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Order provides, however, that all civil hearings must be conducted telephonically or by video conference. The Order was effective immediately and remains in full force and effect until April 3, 2020, at which time it may be extended. View the District Court Order here.

The bankruptcy court will be operating in full compliance with the District Court Order effective immediately. All currently scheduled in-court hearings will be conducted telephonically. No one may attend previously-scheduled in-court hearings in person.

For hearings scheduled before Chief Judge Thomas L. Perkins, call 1-877-336-1831 and use access code 1082031.

For hearings scheduled before Judge Mary P. Gorman, call 1-877-336-1829 and use access code 8878507.

For all telephonic hearings, please call the number at least five minutes before the scheduled hearing and remain on the line until all of your cases are called. Please mute your line when you are not participating in the case being heard.

Attorneys are requested to notify their clients of these changes so that the clients do not attempt to attend the hearings in person. Additionally, the assistance of attorneys involved in cases with active pro se parties in notifying the pro se parties of these changes is requested. The Clerk will make every effort to notify pro se parties of the changes, but attorneys may have phone numbers or email addresses that the Clerk does not have, and their assistance in getting the notice to pro se parties would be appreciated.
