Bankruptcy Clerk’s Offices Closed to In-Person Visits Due to Inclement Weather Thursday, December 22, and Friday, December 23, 2022

Wednesday, December 21, 2022

All offices of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of Illinois, will be closed to in-person visits on Thursday, December 22, and Friday, December 23, 2022, due to inclement weather.

The Clerk’s Office will remain accessible to the public through telephone, mail, and the Electronic Document Submission System (EDSS---see details below).  Staff will be available via telephone to provide customer service during normal office hours, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Please note that items left in the drop box will not be processed until Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

The Court’s electronic filing system will remain available for the filing of cases and documents. If you need to obtain copies of documents from a case file, the PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) system is available days, nights, and weekends. Visit the PACER website (https://www.pacer.uscourts.gov) for information on how to register for PACER and the fees for downloading court documents.

For self-represented parties, the Electronic Document Submission System (EDSS) is a service that may be used to file documents with the Court as an alternative to mailing or bringing the documents to the courthouse. If a document submitted using EDSS is accepted for filing by the Court, the document will be considered filed on the date and time that it was received by the Court via EDSS.  Please click here for additional information.
